Gears in Heaven was founded in memory of Brandon Forlastro, the son of our founders, who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on his 22nd birthday. Wicked Big Meet was his favorite event, and attending with his father became a tradition they treasured.
That loss became the beginning of something much bigger. Today, Gears in Heaven exists to help families feel seen, supported, and less alone when life changes in an instant. Through emotional support, peer connection, practical assistance, memorial support, and community outreach, we stand beside families during some of their hardest moments.
For those attending Wicked Big Meet, our mission connects deeply with the heart of this event. This community understands that vehicles are not just machines. They are stories, memories, friendships, passion, and purpose.
